A Silent House for the Genius is a project dedicated to creating immersive audio experiences for the listener. Our music is meticulously composed, recorded, mixed and mastered with this specific goal in mind, relying heavily on field recordings, found sounds, and experimental audio manipulation techniques to craft a unique journey through soundscapes that are different every time they are explored. These experiences are greatly altered by the perceptual state of the listener, as well. With proper attention and dedication to establishing the correct set and setting, this audio can be quite psychedelic and even transcendent. This is why we recommend ONLY listening to our music with headphones, preferably in total darkness.

Our visual aesthetic is a kind of ‘psychedelic Victoriana’ with a playful nod to Edward Gorey. It is also heavily inspired by 1940’s horror pulp and early surrealism, as well as the fascinating and often bizarre world of the mad genius; inventors such as Hugo Gernsback, Nikola Tesla, and more.
