The “Electroloch Amp” is a low-noise, weighted, passive hydrophone used to document all kinds of mysterious underwater sounds that are obscure to what we can hear. Waterfalls, waves, ice, swimming fish, passing boats, submarines, marine animals that use sound to navigate, find food, or locate a companion, as well as sounds like earthquakes and thunder.

These microphones are made from piezoelectric disks, so they can also be used as contact microphones to attach to solid bodies and structures to capture vibrations running through and can sometimes pick up electrostatic sounds from certain devices and electrical components.
